Rain totals in this area, were 8-10 inches, from May 1st-June 3rd.
At our farm (Kent and Ali Bahl) in Renville County, we have had
an additional 1.25 inches of rain on June 2-3rd, as well as 1.45 inches on June 7th.
Here in Grover Township, we are well over the 12 inch range

Photo taken on JUNE 16th

These photos were taken as we were trying to cultivate the fields for planting.... the water is still,
even at this date, in abundance.  The only dry areas of the fields, as you can see, are in the very lightest tan color.
To plant the crop any later in the season, as we wait for a drying spell,
we would take the risk of it not making it to maturity, before frost.

I have also added a new section to this page called "Sunk in the Mud".
I believe the "farmer" always has a great sense of humor..as one person who signed our guetbook stated...
"North Dakota is the only place you can stand knee deep in mud and have dust blow in your face."

Name: Allan Smith
Location: Manitoba, Canada
This tractor is a Ford 276 bi-directional. I was in the hay yard, trying to level out some deep ruts with the front end loader, when down it went.
