Squaresoft and Nintendo worked together to make the ultiment Mario game. The name of this game might be conceiving. It's an RPG game but it's also an action packed adventure. SMR mixes the classic Mario adventures and added some spice from Squaresofts RPG games. The graphics with the help of the FX chip makes this probably the best graphics besides for the Donkey Kong Country series for the SNES. The music was different from other Squaresoft games but It wasn't as good as it could have been. It's a fun game with bunch of puzzles and other little challenges within this game. SMR really has no big challenge, meaning I never got stuck in the game because the map view gives the game away by telling you where to go, and if the map doesn't tell you where to go the monologue does. The plot never gave any big surprises in the whole game. Still If you love RPG's and you're hooked on Mario games I definitely recommend this game.
