Emergency Programs

Energy Share: Energy Share is a cooperative effort of Energy Share of North Dakota, statewide Community Action Agencies, utility companies, private donors, and the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program to help eligible households prevent electrical shutoffs. Assistance is provided when the situation has been deemed an emergency, and all other resources have been exhausted.

Utility Bills: Assistance is provided to income-eligible individuals and families needing help with utility disconnect notices. Assistance is provided when the individual or family is in an emergency situation and no other resources are available. Senior Commodity Supplemental Food Program: Community Action Opportunities, Inc. provides additional food to individuals age sixty and above to free up grocery dollars so that the seniors can put the money towards their prescription needs. Food is distributed every other month and delivery is available in some areas.

Food Pantries: Community Action supports thirteen community food pantries through out Bottineau, Burke, McHenry, Mountrail, Pierce, Renville, and Ward Counties. Government Surplus commodities, funding, and administrative support are provided to the food pantries.
