"Faith, Hope, Love" - Our 3 Year Ministry Theme

As a church family, we are learning to "draw near to God in full assurance of faith"
"to hold unswervingly ""to the hope we profess" and to consider how we can "spur one
another on toward love and good deeds" (Hebrews 10:19-24)

Weekly Times of Corporate Prayer: 8 AM Sunday Morning, 6 PM Sunday night, 7 PM Wednesday night. 9 AM Saturday morning

"For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." - Hebrews 12:4 (NIV)
This month, we are utilizing Scripture to guide our praying. Let us daily approach the throne of grace with confidence with Scripture guiding our way. Thanks for praying with us!

"    September 1 - Proverbs 23a reminds us, "In all labor there is profit." Today, give God thanks for the privilege to serve others through your work. Give thanks as well for a special day to celebrate the gift of hard work!

"    September 2 - Proverbs 15:22 states, "Without consultation, plans are frustrated,
But with many counselors they succeed." Let's thank God for the wisdom He imparts as we join hearts and hands in His work at FBC.

"    September 3 - "Come, let us tell of the LORD's greatness; let us exalt His name together" (Psalm 34:3 NLT). Pray we will focus more on our worship of God than our work for God during the busy ministry season to come. Work without worship will sour our service.

"    September 4 - "From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live" (Acts 17:26).   Praise God for Campus Crusade staff at MSU.  Pray that the leadership and students would fulfill their mission in this time and place.

"    September 5 - "I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone" (1 Timothy 2:1 NIV). The associate pastor search committee covets your prayers as they serve and seek God for another pastor.

"    September 6 - "Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love. Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the LORD" (Hosea 10:12).   Pray for the Sunday school ministry teachers (Jr. High: Paul & Cindy; Sr. High: Shar, KT, Paul, and Brian).  Pray for their efforts to help students apply the word of God.

"    September 7 - "Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it" (Isaiah 30:21).  Pray for the Lord's leading in the many different ministries that will be changing and adapting to the new service schedule, may we listen to His leading!

"    September 8 - "Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God- this is your spiritual act of worship"  (Romans 12:1). Pray that we as worshippers would live every day as an act of worship to God, not just on Sunday morning.

"    September 9 - "For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope"  (Romans 15:4).  Pray for Jean Chantland as she leads the ladies' Bible study Tuesday mornings at First Baptist.  Pray for Michelle Strong and Daphne Langdon as they facilitate the ladies' Bible study Tuesday morning at Minot AFB.

"    September 10 - "Choose some well-respected men from each tribe who are known for their wisdom and understanding, and I will appoint them as your leaders" (Deut. 1:13).   Pray for the kick off of the AWANA ministry.  Pray that all the staff positions would be filled.  Pray for the staff to prepare their heart for this ministry.

"    September 11 - "In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well" (Romans 12:6-7). Thank the Lord today for the ministry of White Cross and XYZ.

"    September 12 -"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful (John 15:1-2). Let's give thanks for the beauty of our changing seasons.  Pray the fall harvest will remind us of our call to be fruitful as well as faithful in our life with Christ!

"    September 13 - "For I know that the LORD is great and that our Lord is above all gods" (Psalm 135:5). Pray that those attending Discovery Class will sense a great reverence for God among us as they contemplate making FBC their church home.

"    September 14 - "…I ask you to pray for us.  Pray first that the Lord's message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes…"  (2 Thessalonians 3:1).  FBC Youth are continuing an outreach ministry at the Roosevelt skate park.  Please pray for our youth as they take this step of faith.  Pray also for the youth at the skate park that their hearts would be open to us and the good news of Jesus Christ.

"    September 15 - "The Lord alone guided them; they followed no foreign gods" (Deut. 32:12).  Pray for the class of 2009.  Pray that God would guide these students as they think about their futures.

"    September 16 - "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field" (Luke 10:2).  Pray for workers to win the lost to Christ in the city of Minot. Pray that we would be faithful in planting, watering, or harvesting as the Lord leads us.

"    September 17 - "Then the priests and Levites stood and blessed the people, and God heard their prayer from his holy dwelling in heaven" (2 Chronicles 30:27). Pray for the AWANA Trek workers who are leading small groups.  Pray that God would bless the youth and hear the prayer of the leaders.  Please pray for Jason as he directs this strategic ministry.

"    September 18 - "Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus" (Philippians 2:5). Pray that we would prefer one another, not simply looking out for ourselves, but have the same attitude of humility that Jesus models for us.

"    September 19 - "Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness" (Colossians 2:7 NLT). Pray for a deepening of our spiritual lives as we study the book of Colossians in the morning services.

"    September 20 - "And I am sure that when I come, Christ will richly bless our time together"(Romans 15:29).  Pray for the Sunday night Uth event staff as they build relationships with the students (Shar, KT, Paul and Brian).

"    September 21 - "It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High…" (Psalm 92:1).  Pray that our church would continue to understand what pleases our Lord in worship.

"    September 22 - "We have different gifts according, to the grace given us" (Romans 12:6).  Pray that the congregation at FBC would be serving within their gifting, and the body would work together to bring Christ the glory.

"    September 23 - "Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him"   (Psalm 127:3). Thank God for the children He has given to us and pray we will be faithful in teaching the next generation to know and love Him.

"    September 24 - "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all" (2 Corinthians 13:14). Pray for a warm spirit of fellowship among us as XYZ meets tomorrow.

"    September 26 - "The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him sincerely" (Psalm 145:18).  Pray for those who need to be reminded of the Lord's presence and may be going through a lonely time. Praise Him for his ability to be in all places at all times.

"    September 27 - "It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known…" (Romans 15:20a NIV). Pray for our Coffee House ministry to be effective in reaching people with the Good News! Pray for a missional heart at FBC!

"    September 28 - "…whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life" (John 4:14). Pray that visitors coming to find "living water" would meet the God who gives freely and that they would be shown love by the family of God.

"    September 29 - "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord…" (Jeremiah 29:11). Pray for the will of God to be done in the future at First Baptist and that we would be a church that fulfills the mission and plans that God intends for us.

"    September 30 - "But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever! Amen (2 Peter 3:18).  Praise God for the opportunity to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus! Pray we will become more than "hearers" but "doers" of God's Word.
